shore side power system for cruise ships in california. for the americas cup, though, as you know, they're using pier 27. we're also doing the construction of the cruise terminal at pier 27. for mitigation for taking this out of service for those two years, we needed to construct shore side power at the dry dock. the environmental benefit of shore side power for both cruise ships and at the dry dock is huge. i just put up a few numbers here. a typical cruise ship in the 8 to 9 hours they're at dock and connected saves 17 tons of fuel that they would have consumed, which -- and burning that fuel would have produced approximately 51 tons of carbon dioxide and 140 pounds of diesel particulate. diesel particulate, 140 pounds doesn't sound like a lot, but from an air quality perspective that's huge. diesel particulates are carcinogenic. that's much more important than the carbon dioxide which as you know is the global warming issue. i made a rough estimate for similar numbers for the matthew perry, which will be in dry dock for 24 days total. t

and right now we're seeing some car sharing services that are experiencing problems with the california p.u.c. we need to make sure those services have a path to being acknowledged as legal and appropriate. we also need to make sure that we're creating enough spaces for our car sharing service providers. we're seeing in some parts of the city with the disappearance of gas stations and disappearance of surface parking lots with some of the most productive ways of providing car sharing spots that it's becoming harder and harder for car sharing companies to actually find spots. and i commend mta for its on-streetcar sharing program. i think that could be terrific. i think we have a ways to go before we can get there. i also have legislation pending to amend the planning code, take away right now the disincentive we have to apply the developers to put adequate car sharing spaces in their developments. we actually make it extremely hard, particularly for smaller development to put car sharing spaces in their buildings. this legislation we're sponsoring will address that problem. i make these

this is the mecca of baseball, san francisco california. i think people forgot this team won 94 games in the regular season in a division that is probably as under rated as any division in sports. beat two excellent teams to win the national league and go on to detroit and unfortunately with detroit with all due respect they didn't know what they were in for.
